WASHINGTON (AP) _ Hand in hand in hand, President Clinton, his wife and his daughter retreated from the tensions of Washington on Tuesday to try to reclaim a private life made uncomfortably public in recent days.
With a jaunty wave to photographers, the president boarded Air Force One, settled down with an unlit cigar in his mouth and first dog Buddy at his feet. Daughter Chelsea gripped his hand, and then his arm, as they walked to the plane. Once inside, she grinned at reporters and nibbled on some grapes.
