WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Two high school football players from neighboring communities died after practicing in 100-degree heat.
The players died Tuesday after collapsing Monday following practice.
A Wichita hospital said the death of Matthew Blaufuss Whittredge, 15, in the south-central Kansas town of Towanda, was heat-related. The cause of death for Robert Alexander Barrett, 17, of Wichita, had not been announced Wednesday.
Towanda, about 20 miles northeast of Wichita, has suspended its practices indefinitely for fear of more heat-related illnesses.
