BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) _ A former commander of Croatia's largest World War II concentration camp faced his first court appearance Friday, amid international calls for speedy extradition.
Dinko Sakic, 76, put up no resistance as he was led away in handcuffs Thursday evening from his home in Santa Teresita, an Atlantic resort 200 miles southeast of Buenos Aires.
Federal Judge Hernan Bernasconi read Croatia's extradition request on Friday to Sakic during a hearing in Dolores, a city near Santa Teresita, where Sakic was taken by federal police.
