Article: Knight Ridder announces new corporate home in San Jose

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Knight Ridder, the nation's second-largest newspaper publisher, said Tuesday it had decided on San Jose, Calif. as the site of its new corporate headquarters.

The company had announced last month that it was moving its headquarters from Miami to California, where it owns several newspapers, in order to more closely follow developments in the Internet business.

Knight Ridder will begin moving into two floors in the Fairmont Plaza office tower before the end of the year, chairman P. Anthony Ridder announced. The company's New Media division already occupies the seventh floor of the same building.
