WASHINGTON (AP) _ President Clinton is going ahead to China next month and will begin the visit in Tiananmen Square, the White House says. It will take place over protests from human rights groups and efforts by Congress to tie his hands on technology transfers.
The House voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to block future U.S. satellite exports to China and to bar Clinton from entering into new agreements ``involving space or missile-related technology'' while in China.
Amid accusations from Republicans that Clinton put national security in jeopardy, the House also agreed that Clinton's approval of a communications satellite Feb. ...
