NEW YORK (AP) _ Grand Slam certified his full recovery from the injury he sustained in last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile by rallying for a two-length victory in the $150,000 Peter Pan Stakes for 3-year-olds at Belmont Park Sunday.
Rubiyat was runner-up in the seven-horse field, a length ahead of Parade Ground. Favored Dice Dancer faded and finished fourth.
With 120 pounds and Jerry Bailey aboard, the D. Wayne Lukas-trained Grand Slam covered 1 1/8 miles in 1:49 in earning $90,000 for his first win in three starts this year and his fourth in eight career races.
He is undefeated in four races at Belmont. He broke his maiden at Belmont in his debut last July ...
