SAN DIEGO (AP) _ Mark McGwire's run at Roger Maris' home run record has stalled for a few games.
The St. Louis slugger felt lower back spasms while batting in the first inning and was taken out of Monday night's 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres.
McGwire, who leads the major leagues with 27 homers, said he did not expect to play in the Cardinals' three-game series at Los Angeles that begins tonight.
``It's nothing to be concerned about. It probably won't be more than a few games,'' McGwire said.
