CHICAGO (AP) _ After a 92-year break, the Cubs finally got the homefield advantage against the White Sox in a game that counted. And they made the most of it.

Brant Brown hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the 12th inning Friday to give the Cubs a 6-5 victory over the White Sox in the first official Wrigley Field game between the Chicago rivals.

Not since Game 5 of the 1906 World Series had the teams met at a Cubs park in a non-ceremonial game. The White Sox won that game 8-6 at West Side Grounds and went on to win the series 4-2.
