TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) _ Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi denied in an interview with The Associated Press that he had been injured in an assassination attempt this month, saying no such attack occurred.
``We hear of these things such as was reported this week. But these are deliberate lies,'' Gadhafi told APTV on Tuesday.
A Libyan Islamic opposition group claimed it killed four bodyguards and wounded Gadhafi in the June 1 attack as the party headed for Egypt on an official visit. In another report, travelers from Libya said they witnessed the attack and reported Gadhafi was injured in the elbow and that one bodyguard was ...
