WASHINGTON (AP) _ With most American adults now overweight, the National Institutes of Health is stepping in with guidance for doctors in helping people recognize and deal with their weight problems.
``According to the most recent national survey data, about 55 percent of American adults are overweight or obese _ up from 43 percent in 1960,'' said Karen Donato of NIH's National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
