SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ The Tennessee Walking Horse show season has been put on hold by a dispute over ``soring,'' a training practice that involves inflaming the horse's leg just above the hoof with an irritant.
The Walking Horse Trainers Association board of directors voted Sunday to postpone the annual Walking Horse Trainers Association Horse Show, which was to have begun today in Shelbyville.
Between 300 and 400 trainers and others met for about three hours Monday to discuss the dispute between the industry and the U.S. Agriculture Department. They will meet again today.
