PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (AP) _ Manny Martinez's three-run homer broke a tie in a five-run eighth inning that gave the Pittsburgh Pirates an 8-3 victory over the Texas Rangers in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday.
With the score tied at 3 after the scheduled seven innings, the Pirates got seven of their 15 hits in the eighth off Eric Moody (0-1).
