Snow showers were scattered across the Northeast on Saturday, and showers dampened parts of the Southwest.
Snow extended from northern Ohio to Maine as an ``Alberta Clipper'' of cold air moved across the region from Canada.
The heaviest snowfall during the afternoon was in western New York state, with 3 inches reported in one hour during thunder and lightning in Cattaraugas County. Other parts of the state got as much as 10 inches of snow overnight.
A winter weather advisory was in effect into early Sunday for eastern Maine.
