(The Daily Universe) (U-WIRE) PROVO, Utah -- It wasn't supposed to be that close.

The San Diego State women's basketball team had a mere four wins to its name and was coming off a 14-point loss to Utah just two nights before. BYU, on the other hand, dominated WAC foes Utah and Hawaii for an early handle on the Pacific division.

But in nail-biting fashion, the Cougars managed to remain unscathed in conference play (3-0) as they edged the Aztecs in overtime, 72-71, Saturday at the Marriott Center.
