(Daily Northwestern) (U-WIRE) EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Associated Student Government would mirror the U.S. government's three-branch system if an amendment to create a judicial branch passes Wednesday in Senate.
The amendment would create an independent judicial branch to interpret ASG laws and determine the constitutionality of ASG's decisions. It also would have the power to impeach senators and executive board members.
ASG currently has executive and legislative branches and an Ethics Committee, which reviews unethical conduct cases and makes recommendations of punishment to Senate.
