WASHINGTON, Feb. 11 (IPS) -- Most of the world's children risk
disease and death because they are growing up in rapidly expanding
urban areas where they regularly breath polluted air, according to
health experts.
A preliminary report by the World Resources Institute and the
World Health Organization (WHO), to be officially released later
this month, says that while air pollution can affect the health of
all humans, regardless of age, the greatest impact is likely to be
among urban children.
Increased urbanization and rapid industrialization in developing
