Two perfect games put Bauerle in front
ERIE, Pa., Feb. 17 (UPI) _ A perfect day for John Bauerle Jr. put him
in the lead after the first round of qualifying Friday at the PBA's
Flagship Open.
Bauerle, a three-year veteran, rolled two perfect games in knocking
over 1,571 pins for an average of 261.83. He is searching for his first
PBA title.
In second by just 38 pins was Nick Melnikoff, a nine-year PBA pro who
had high games of 279, 278 and 257. Melnikoff, who owns two PBA
regional titles, is trying to win his first PBA National Tour title.
