Convection ovens are often billed as energy- and time-savers, and they can be both by being more efficient than a radiant oven. However, unless you operate a commercial kitchen, you'll probably never notice the small energy savings on your monthly electric or gas bill.
Convection ovens are available in both gas and electric models. Scot Walstra of Northwest Natural estimates the cost of residential gas cooking at seven cents per hour.
