TAIPEI, Mar. 21 (IPS) -- Taipei businessman Ting Tin-yu has been
nervously watching ties between Taiwan and China deteriorate in the
last few weeks as China shows off its military strength in the
Taiwan Strait prior to Taiwan's presidential elections on March 23.
The election has not enthralled Ting. With mainland China
flexing its military muscle at Taipei's doorstep, he has decided
he will leave the island temporarily on a business trip. The
pollster is also thinking of selling off his public opinion company
and relocating overseas.
Ting is among those panicky Taiwanese who fear adverse effects
on Taiwan and its booming economy ...
