Libyan leader prefers Scottish trial

TRIPOLI, Libya, March 2 (UPI) _ Libyan leader Col. Moammar Gadhafi says
he prefers that the two suspects in the Lockerbie bombing be tried in
Scotland instead of the Netherlands.

Speaking at a rally in the city of Benghazi today, Gadhafi said the
integrity of the Scottish judicial system could not be doubted
``compared to the U.S. courts, where I suspect interference from U.S.
intelligence and the Israeli lobby.''

The United States and Britain have given Libya until the end of March
to hand over the suspects in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over
Lockerbie, Scotland, in 1988, which killed 270 people, mostly
