SEATTLE (AP) Federal inspectors monitoring airline safety have gotten heat from their bosses for enforcing regulations with Alaska Airlines, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported today.
In a copyright report based on Federal Aviation Administration documents, transcripts of legal proceedings and interviews, the newspaper found several instances where inspectors were disciplined and moved to other jobs.
The Seattle-based airline, meanwhile, has avoided some major fines despite what some inspectors call a pattern of bending and breaking the rules, the newspaper said.
