(The Collegiate Times) (U-WIRE) BLACKSBURG, Va. -- After only two years patrolling the men's basketball sidelines, Virginia Tech U. coach Bobby Hussey was dismissed as head coach Monday.
"It became apparent this past season that the Virginia Tech men's basketball program no longer held the respect of its fan base," said athletic director Jim Weaver. "This was evidenced by the poorest attendance in the 38-year history of Cassell Coliseum."
Weaver said the athletic department lost confidence in the men's basketball program and gave two reasons for his dismissal -- fiscal issues and fan base.
