BASK: Jordan s impact estimated at 10 billion dollars
NEW YORK, Jan 12 AFP - How big is Michael Jordan?
Fortune Magazine last year estimated the basketball superstar had an impact valued at more
than $US10 billion ($A15.7 billion) on the US economy since he joined the National Basketball
Association in 1984.
The estimate takes into account key sectors directly affected by the Chicago Bulls
superstar such as the NBA, the footwear manufacturer Nike and a variety of branded products.
Fortune said a total of $US701 million ($A1.1 billion) was generated from Jordan-endorsed
products, including cologne, underwear, the myriad sports videos and books ...
