TRI: Canadian couple head record ironman field
SYDNEY, Feb 1 AAP - World champion Peter Reid and wife Lori Bowden hope to become the first
couple to win an triathlon race on the same day after heading a record 1,278 entries for the
upcoming Australian Ironman event.
The Canadian duo went halfway towards achieving the rare feat last year when Reid
succesfully defended his 1997 Australian Ultra Distance title in arguably the closest
race-long duel in ironman triathlon history.
Reid sealed victory with a final sprint to the finish against Australia's Chris Leigh after
