RU: Chiefs cleared of viral eye infection
HAMILTON, New Zealand, Feb 19 NZPA - The Chiefs have cleared the first hurdle in their
Super 12 rugby dress rehearsal against Otago Highlanders in Invercargill tomorrow night.
They will play the match after all players were cleared of the possibility of having a
highly contagious viral eye infection.
The entire touring party had their eyes checked by specialists at Christchurch Hospital on
arrival from Fiji last night and six had swabs taken for laboratory testing for viral
conjunctivitis.
That resulted from several players complaining of sore eyes at the Fijian Resort, near
Sigatoka, on Wednesday ...
