SOC: Manchester United s Champions League chances threate

LONDON, Feb 26 AFP - Manchester United's chances of playing in the Champions' League could
be threatened by a possible merger between BSkyB and Canal Plus.

Shareholders United Against Murdoch (SUAM) claim if BSkyB are allowed to take over the
club and then merge with French broadcasting company Canal Plus, United could fall foul of
UEFA rules.

Canal Plus already own Paris St Germain, which means the new media company would have two
clubs, and according to UEFA statutes no owner is allowed to enter more than one side in any
European competition.
