SA: Funeral director kept body for seven months: government
ADELAIDE, March 11 AAP - An Adelaide funeral director stored bodies for up to seven months
while grieving families believed they had been cremated, the South Australian consumer affairs
department revealed today.
Hamish Gilmore, the Commissioner for Consumer Affairs, said the actions of DSG Panos
Funeral Directors were inexcusable and charges would be laid tomorrow.
Mr Gilmore said DSG Panos, which also traded as Patritha Funerals and Affordable Funerals,
had breached regulations under the Fair Trading Act, the Births Deaths and Marriages
Registration Act and the SA Business Names Act.
