VIC: Doctors urge state govt to ban smoking in public places

MELBOURNE, March 29 AAP - Doctors today urged the Victorian government to follow Western
Australia's lead and ban smoking in enclosed public places.

The Australian Medical Association (AMA) of Victoria said this move would protect the
health of the government's workers and the public.

AMA Victoria president Gerald Segal said it was astounding the Victorian government would
not consider legislation to introduce a ban when other Australian states had implemented bans.
