FED: UHT milk tops for knocked out teeth research

BRISBANE, April 23 AAP - A knocked-out tooth might stand the best chance of being replanted
if it is stored in long-life milk on the way to the dentist, a study shows.

University of Queensland researchers have found that milk beats nearly everything else in
preserving cells on the tooth's root, but preferably not straight from the fridge.

School of dentistry associate professor Laurence Walsh said once cells on the outside of
the tooth start to die, the chances of successful restoration diminish.
