Here's the one city in the Caribbean without a jewelry store.
Of course, Stingray City is not really a city. Instead, it's a shallow sand bar about a half-hour boat ride from the nearest dock. It's inhabited by dozens of stingrays, and tourists come from all over for the chance to swim with them, to stroke them, to feed them, and if you're fast to hold them.
Dangerous? Maybe about as risky as petting the neighbor's dog. But it feels like an adventure, and after visiting 10 of the Caribbean's most popular tourist destinations over the last 15 years, it gets my vote as one of the best things to do.
