Young shofar blower takes Rosh Hashana by the horn: For 11 years, Carly Levin has blown the shofar for her classmates at Laurel School.

Carly Levin brought an unusual "toy" to her first-grade class at Laurel School. It was a finely polished ram's horn or, as she would later explain to her friends, a shofar. This would be the first of many presentations she would make to her classmates on the subject of the High Holidays, the Jewish new year and her shofar.
This year, Carly, now a senior at Laurel Upper School, will give her final Rosh Hashana presentation at the school. She and several Jewish friends will conduct an assembly on ...
