NAACP urges Blacks to `hang up' on telephone industry

The NAACP has taken on the nation's telephone industry in its first Telecommunications Consumer Choice Guide & Report released this week. The report is part of the group's Economic Reciprocity Initiative.

Kweisi Mfume, head of the NAACP, urged consumers to "disconnect" AllTel and AirTouch for getting "D's" and Frontier for receiving an "F" on report cards. The announcement was made during a Washington, D.C., press conference.
