AFRICA: America's Solution to the Prison Population?
During the month of June, the National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) held its annual convention in Memphis, Tennessee. I was honored by the president, Mrs. Dorothy Leavell to make a presentation on Africa. The title was "Covering Africa." The conference was very successful and Dorothy Leavell as always, was a gracious hostess.
I have always had a great love for the Black press of America. At times, I feel they are not appreciated within our community nor read by enough of us.
