GOLF: Europeans eye return to Open winner s circle

PINEHURST, North Carolina, June 16 Reuters - For three decades, the US Open winner's circle
has been off-limits to Europeans, but that might change at the 99th edition of the
championship starting tomorrow at Pinehurst.
Donald Ross's famed No.2 course, which requires delicate touch and inventiveness around the
greens, should suit the international set and perhaps produce the first European winner since
Briton Tony Jacklin won at Hazeltine in 1970.
