FED: Social changes may reduce informal support for aged
A survey shows most older Australians are able to remain in their home, largely thanks to
informal support from family and friends.
But it says social changes may threaten this option in the future.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics report shows government-funded programs like Home and
Community Care are aimed at encouraging older people to remain in their homes where possible.
