Where Was Chuck Schumer When Sen. D'Amato Was Always Around?
On September 17, 1998, the members of the United States House of Representatives passed an amendment to the Foreign Aid Bill for 1999. This amendment called for keeping restrictions on aid to Azerbaijan under section 907 of the Freedom Support Act until Azerbaijan lifts its blockade of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabagh.
Both the Armenian National Committee and the Armenian Assembly called this vote "The most important vote of the year for Armenian-Americans."
The 1998 New York Democratic Senatorial candidate, Congressman Chuck Schumer, was not present when the vote was taken. He failed to cast a vote ...
