30th biennial convention of FIDA to be held in U.S.

At its 29th Biennial Convention held in Narobi, Kenya, Oct. 5 to 8, the International Federation of Women Lawyers (called FIDA) voted to meet in the United States in the year 2000.

The 54-year-old organization founded in 1940 in Mexico - The acronym FIDA is from the Spanish name of the federation - has members and affiliate organizations in 80 countries around the world.

The international convention held every other year on one of the five continents, in rotation, was last held in the United States in 1979.
