(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- University of California-Berkeley geology Professor Ian Carmichael says he does not know exactly why he was recently elected to the Royal Society in London -- an honor considered by many to be one of the most prestigious honors in science.
The professor and director of the Lawrence Hall of Science says he also does not understand why researchers at the University of Michigan recently named a newly-discovered mineral "carmichaelite" after him.
