Matrix Theatre Company in Southwest Detroit: Young actors explore serious issues of violence and peacemaking

"It's fun!" That's the unanimous verdict of Southwest Detroit teens who for the cast of Matrix Theatre Company's production of "Beyond Violence." Fun also means hard work. In rehearsal these youthful cast members strove to become their characters and to understand the motivations and emotions of families caught up in domestic violence, alcoholism and gangs.

First produced by Matrix Theatre Company in 1993 this award winning drama returns on tour in December and January at the request of the Mayor's Task Force on Child Abuse. ...
