Roar Of Celtic Tiger Quieted Down
THE man who was deemed largely responsible for coining the oft-used term "Celtic Tiger" has come up with a new name to describe the future of the Irish economy, one that does not exactly inspire confidence in the coming years.
David McWilliams, a senior economist and strategist for Banque National de Paris Emerging Markets Group in London, said if Ireland continued to ignore international trends, "we are in real danger of moving from the Celtic Tiger to the Celtic Ostrich in a few short years."
