City Council creates procedures on contracts

At their Monday March 17 meeting, the Highland Park City Council continued their discussion of rental for groups holding dances in the city owned Blackwell Center at 15840 Second. Councilwoman Ameenah Omar first raised the issue, expressing concern that the Public Safety Department had not approved two groups seeking to rent the hall.

Council President Earl Wheeler suggested that the city's Law Department look at the procedures for approving dances and suggested creating a new review form.
