Archer defends shutting down District Council
Greg Bowen, deputy press secretary to Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer defended the Detroit Planning and Development Department's actions last month in coming with police to close the office of the University City "A" Citizens District Council.
He made his remarks at a time when news of a second District Council closing by the administration came to light. City officials closed the Corktown Citizens District Council last week citing the same reasons - potential conflict of interest.
