Advice for parents on how to promote literacy in children
Good reading skills and the role those skills play in the learning ability and academic success of a child is of paramount importance. Schools have initiated extensive reading programs and projects, parents are encouraged to read to their children at an early age, and politicians, athletes and other adult role models are becoming increasingly involved in the public support of reading programs. In conjunction with "Reading is Fun Week," the week of April 20, Dr. Francis Wardle, Director of Education for Children's World Learning Centers, offers some advice for parents in supporting their children's ...
