RED CLIFF SHOWDOWN WITH STATE OVER CASINO ONE WEEK AWAY

The Red Cliff Indian Reservation's efforts to get a gambling compact with the state have snagged on a disagreement over whether people younger than 21 should be allowed to gamble, officials say. An existing compact for the northern Wisconsin reservation's Chippewa Indians expires Dec. 12, which would make casino gambling illegal, Mark Bugher, secretary of the state Department of Administration, said.
