Black Press, Washington Informer Celebrate Historic Milestones.
The National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) will celebrate 167 years of the Black Press from March 16 through 18 all across the United States.
NNPA publishers from across the nation will host the Black Press Dinner on Wednesday at the National Press Club, with a special honor of the start of the Freedom's Journal on March 16, 1827, in New York City.
Also celebrating its 30 anniversary during this period is The Washington Informer Newspaper, which was founded in 1964 by Dr. Calvin W. Rolark, with a mission to report positive and provocative news affecting the Washington area's ...
