If all goes as planned, when you read these words I will be celebrating Shabbat in Jerusalem after what should have been an exciting adventure. And so let me begin by wishing all my readers: "Shabbat shalom from Jerusalem!"
I have lost track of the number of trips that I have taken to Israel since my first visit just before the Six-Day War in 1967; my guess is that this is about the 40th.
Some have been personal visits to family; some for conventions or emergency meetings; some as the leader of a congregational or teen tour; one for Philadelphia ...
