Navajo Nation Council votes against considering name change to Dine.

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. -- The Navajo Nation Council rejected a proposal to consider a tribal name change from Navajo to Dine as it began a two-day special session.
"I know some council delegates will consider this frivolous," said Torreon, N.M., councilman Daniel Tso as he sponsored the name change resolution.
Mr. Tso proposed to the council that it add to its agenda a resolution to change the name of Navajo to Dine and the Navajo Nation to the Dine Nation. But the council vote fell far short of the majority needed to add the issue ...
