Landmark legislation gets final approval; Mayor Schmoke signs anti-liquor. billboard law
Proponents of City Council Bill 626 where overcome with joy, after learning that Mayor Kurt Schmoke had signed the landmark legislation into law on Thursday, Jan. 6.
Supporters of the Bill, who have battled opponents of the legislation for the last several years, are confident that it will set a standard for other cities to follow. The law, which will restrict all outdoor advertisements of alcoholic beverages, takes effect in 30 days.
