THREE-TIME Phayao MP Ladawan Wongsriwong strongly indicated yesterday
that she would quit the Democrat Party and join the Thai Rak Thai party,
while her father said Thai Rak Thai leader Thaksin Shinawatra had met him
at his house more than ten days before.

Ladawan said she would have to listen to her voters and so far people
in three of the nine districts in her constituency wanted her to join Thaksin's
party.

''I've got the opinion of people in three districts and found that
they want me to switch to Thai Rak Thai because now people here are calling
for support for a northerner to be the next prime minister,'' Ladawan stated.
