PATERSON -- After scaling it down, the Planning Board approved a controversial
plan to knock down the former Elks Club fronting McLean Boulevard and
construct a building housing medical offices and a bank.
The board unanimously approved the site plan and parking variance
Wednesday night by Elks McLean Associates to build the
13,000-square-foot complex at 37 E. 34th St. and 16-30 E. 35th St. for
